Perception and Stigmas

I invite you to watch this video. Carefully watch the reactions of the judges as they have fallen into the trap of poor perception based on Paul Potts’ lack of confidence and appearance. Once you have seen this, consider how the stigma of mental illness is also human nature.

Why are we here?

As readers, you have found this place amongst all others because with technology it allowed you to filter what you wanted down to this relevant information. Now it is your choice on how to proceed with your life. Do you have experiences that you would like to share? Could you be a writer and fill some of our virtual parchment? Are you an Artist who would like to display your work here? Do you need information and would just like to comment to others?

Many books are published on how to get rich? As many as there are rich people who are willing to share there experiences on how they became rich. Their stories are shared only to further their own financial goals, not to make us wealthy. These books have little value to enrich our lives as readers.

The writers here are passionate about educating you. If, with this information, you are able to make it through just one more day without feeling the mystery of what ails you, or better yet, you see the solution to the mystery that even eludes many of our medical community, then all of our work here is paid in full.

It is all available here. I hope you enjoy our little corner.

Very Funny

AAADD

Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide my car needs washing.

As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mailbox earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first.

But then I think, since I’m going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only one check left.

My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking.

I’m going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don’t accidentally knock it over.

I realize the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye–they need to be watered.

I set the Coke down on the counter, and I discover my reading glasses that I’ve been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I’m going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I will be looking for the remote, but I won’t remember that it’s on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I’ll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some paper towels and wipe up the spill.

Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:
the driveway is flooded,
the car isn’t washed,
the bills aren’t paid,
there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter,
there is still only one check in my check book,
I can’t find the remote,
I can’t find my glasses,
and I don’t remember what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I’m really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I’m really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem, and I’ll try to get some help for it, but first I’ll check my e-mail.

Share Your Experience

The internet, when used for good, is the equivalent of an artists canvass awaiting a creation, or a writer’s parchment awaiting ink. Without the imagination, experiences and courage of its artists, it is but a dense fog where nothing can be seen and only the mystery of the next clearing can keep you interested. When the Artist begins to paint or write, they must choose from the beginning what the end may become… Sounds a bit like a religious experience.

For a writer, the first page may only begin a world of mystery that may even elude the author. We would all like to believe that a writer’s story is whole and just awaiting parchment. The mind does work in mysterious ways and whether a story is fictional or true, the words to enable our interpretation of the story have yet to be chosen. Words enable our mind to live the story in many different ways. To learn from it.

If I were to tell my life experiences to two authors and they applied the ink to the parchment, the resulting stories would only be the writer’s interpretation of my life. Creatively, two different stories.

Our personal experiences are vast in our mind, but are expanded only when someone is willing to share their experiences and we can take those and weave them with our own to gain knowledge and wisdom. This is a gift that we should treasure as many of these experiences are painful to share.

When an author becomes the artist of their own mind, the result is beautiful. The story can be interpreted only one way and the sacrifice of privacy and the willingness to share with readers is priceless. In history we learn from the passing of experiences so that we maybe able to choose a better path if we are faced with a similar challenges in our lives.

We are offering here, on this site, an opportunity for people to share there experiences on Mental Illness, Depression, use of Anti-Depressants, the Withdrawal from them, the life experiences resulting from any of this, or purely your interpretation of it.

You will not pay to read it, nor will it make you financially wealthy. But it may change your life!

Authors, Artists and Readers….WELCOME!
